Revelstoke Cat Skiing With K3 Cat Ski

Welcome to K3 Cat Ski! Our tenure is in excess of 33,000 acres and this winter the area we will be skiing and snowboarding is on a mountain known locally as K3. We ski and snowboard the entire mountain and the varied terrain provides an excellent mix of runs. Many of the runs are treed with a nice pitch, but we do have wide open alpine areas where you can enjoy long cruising runs. As well, you can experience great skiing in the South Park burn and when stability is good we have some exceptional steep tree skiing on slopes up to 50 degrees!

Our runs average 1500 vertical feet and range from 1200 to 3000 vertical feet. Most of our runs are high up on the mountain, ending at around the 5000 foot elevation so we generally have good snow conditions all winter. Our highest elevation is over 7400 feet and the lowest point is around 4000 feet. Also, more than half of our runs are North and East aspect and this helps ensure good snow in all weather conditions.

We are located in the Anstey range of the Monashee Mountains and so enjoy some of the best snow there is. We also get a lot of snow, averaging around 50 feet each winter.

Why Choose K3 Cat Ski As Your Revelstoke Cat Ski Operator?

K3 now has two backcountry lodges- the South Park Lodge and the Far Side Lodge- each of them nearly identical timber-frame structures. Upstairs there are 8 cozy bedrooms, each bedroom has a full size bed with a 3-piece ensuite bathroom. Downstairs there is a gear room equipped with individual lockers, boot and glove dryers.

The lodge has a well appointed kitchen where our chef will prepare all the meals. Meals are served family style around the large dining room table. The lounge with fireplace is a good place to enjoy the craft beer we have on tap or you may prefer to choose from our selection of fine wines from around the world.  The lodges have limited cell phone service and we do have a satellite phone for emergencies.  The daily rate includes your own private bedroom, all meals, and small group skiing with 8-10 guests in the cat.

Guests will meet at Last Spike Lodging, 4885 Lybarger Road (43 kilometers west of Revelstoke, about a 30 minute drive) by 5 PM on the day before your first day of skiing. Look for Last Spike Lodging, on your right, just a 1/4 mile or so after you turn off the highway onto Lybarger Road.

From the secure parking here, transportation will be provided to the lodge you're assigned to.  Travel time from the Last Spike Lodging is about 45 minutes.  After checking in, dinner will be served at 7:00 PM. On your first morning, starting at 8:00 AM, there will be a review of Snowcat Safety and an Avalanche Rescue practice. On all other days we will depart from the lodge around 8:45 AM returning to the lodge in the afternoon between 3:30 and 4:00 PM.

For the ski program we have 2 newer Pisten Bully 600s outfitted with passenger cabs that comfortably accommodate each lodge group. With 400 horsepower these powerful snowcats quickly get you to the top of the mountain. For backup we have two other snowcats, another Pisten Bully 600 and a Pisten Bully300 thus in the unlikely event of a breakdown there won't be any wasted days. We also have a PB600 and a PB200 for full-time road building and road maintenance.

For guests that are flying into the city of Kelowna and looking for transportation options to K3 Cat Skiing, there are several options available.  Kelowna Transfers runs daily shuttles between Kelowna and Revelstoke with both public and private options.
